Optimierung eines MIB-Compilers für den NET-SNMP Agenten

Internet Management Informationen werden formal in der Structure of Management Information (SMIv2) in MIB Modulen modelliert. Diese Module beschreiben somit die Schnittstelle zwischen Managern, die in der Lage sein müssen, Managementdaten zu interpretieren, und Agenten, die ihre Managementdaten in MIB-konformer Weise zur Verfügung stellen. Zur Implementierung von MIB-Modulen in SNMP-Agenten werden meist MIB-Compiler eingesetzt, die aus einem MIB-Modul ein Code-Gerüst erzeugen, das als Ausgangspunkt für die weitere MIB-Implementierung dient.

Gegenstand dieser Studienarbeit ist die Entwicklung eines solchen Code-Generators, der sich in einen bereits am Institut entwickelten modularen MIB-Compiler der integriert. Dieser Code-Generator soll C-Code für den weit verbreiteten Open-Source SNMP-Agenten des UCD-SNMP Projektes erzeugen. Ziel ist es, durch eine ausführliche Analyse der compiler-verwertbaren MIB-Informationen dem MIB-Implementierer ein größtmögliches Maß an manueller Programmierarbeit abzunehmen.
