Both the research group CM (communication and multimedia) at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the research group ND (network and distributed systems) at the University of Oslo and at Simula have worked on streaming for several years. The research groups will focus their cooperation on the application areas that both have experience in. For both project partners, this is on-demand streaming of high-bandwidth content at the one end, highly interactive latency-critical low-bandwidth content at the other end, and a limited number of application examples that combine requirements and features of these extreme application areas. GEMINI will provide the means for cooperation by exchange of personnel, which will increase the expertise of both groups. We will in particular use this opportunity to

Another GEMINI project meeting took place for two days in October 2007. This was a follow-up project meeting this time in Oslo. Both sides gave presentations about their progress and new topics and students were included as well. Plans for extended visits by master students for autumn 2007 and spring 2008 have been discussed and prepared.
