Open position in Connected and Mobile Systems research group

Our research is mainly related to Network & Transport Layer and consider (real-world) application scenarios. In particular, we consider data & information processing and transmission in embedded systems and networks such as Wireless Sensor Networks, Internet of Things, Vehicular Networks and Delay&Disruption Tolerant Networks. For such topics, Edge Computing approaches can be useful and open up new research questions. The tasks of the employee comprise work in research and teaching as well as administrative duties, especially help with design, preparation, and execution of research projects. Earning a PhD or habilitation is possible.

We are looking for applicants with an excellent degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields (Master's degree or equivalent, or a PhD), who have a solid knowledge in Connected and Mobile Systems related topics.

The successful candidate

• has an above-average degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related fields (Master's degree or equivalent, or a PhD),
• has profound knowledge and experience in computer networks and protocols in general, and specifically with wireless sensor networks & Internet of Things, vehicular networking, edge computing in relation to sensor networks & vehicular networks,
• has very good programming experience using C, C++, Java,
• is proficient in English and can collaborate with partners from many different countries,
• speaks German, or is willing to learn German, to communicate with the local working group,
• is self-motivated and well-organized, has an open mind for the other activities of our group, and a healthy team spirit.

Depending on your qualification and fulfillment of personal requirements, the remuneration is based on the salary level TV-L E13. International applicants will need to complete a visa process before hiring can take place. The position is limited, initially for 2 years, with a maximum of 6 years. It is basically part-time suitable but should be 100 percent occupied.
