Yet, even in recent years new protocols are developed and can be found in the literature. Your task will be to present an updated survey of protocols with special focus on recent publications and outline open challenges for WSN MAC protocols. M2	Cellular V2X Communication	Keno Garlichs
When it comes to vehicular communication, there are currently two competing technologies. IEEE 802.11-based communication (called ITS-G5 in Europe) and celluar-based communication (often called C-V2X). The task in this seminar is to have a detailled look at C-V2X and explain the general concepts of direct communication (Mode 4), indirect communication (Mode 3) as well as the employed Semi-Persistens Scheduling (SPS) mechanism. Furthermore, research how SPS incluences the applicability of C-V2X for aperiodic messages and messages of varying sizes. M3	Comparison of TEE Technologies	Lennart Almstedt
Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) are utilized to execute trusted code on an untrusted host. This way, it can be ensured that the code is running correctly, even if an adversary completely controls the operating system or the VM supervisor. This makes TEEs interesting for use-cases such as Digital Rights Management (DRM) or for Cloud-Computing. Consequently, all major CPU vendors have developed their own TEE technologies: Intel SGX, ARM TrustZone, and AMD SEV. Your task is to first describe the inner workings of those TEEs in depth. M4	Approaches to network joining for EH-WSNs	Sven Pullwitt
Energy harvesting WSN nodes face the challenge of energy outages. After an outage, the current time and the schedule in a TDMA network is unknown. To establish communication with neighboring nodes, a network joining procedure is required. As energy is a scarce resource in these networks, efficiency in these procedures is key. Your task is to present and compare existing approaches to network joining in EH-WSNs Energy Savvy Network Joining Strategies for Energy Harvesting Powered TSCH Nodes

Ablauf

Auch in diesem Semester wird es wieder eine gegenseitige Begutachtung der Ausarbeitungen durch die Teilnehmer des Seminars geben. Das bedeutet, dass jeder Teilnehmer nach der Abgabe der finalen Version seiner Ausarbeitung zwei Ausarbeitungen anderer Teilnehmer erhält, zu denen er ein kleines Gutachten (Review) schreiben muss. Dieses Review soll sowohl positive als auch negative Kritik enthalten und dazu beitragen, dass die Ausarbeitung weiter verbessert wird. Für den Review-Prozess und die Abgaben der eigenen Arbeit wird ein entsprechendes Konferenzsystem verwendet.

Hinweise

Die Ausarbeitung ist als PDF abzuliefern. Der Umfang der Ausarbeitung muss dabei 12 bis 15 Seiten umfassen, für den Vortrag selbst sind minimal 18, maximal 22 min. angesetzt. Jeder Teilnehmer des Seminars erhält Basisliteratur zu seinem jeweiligen Thema. Darüber hinaus sollte jeder Teilnehmer zusätzlich eine selbständig Recherche, z.B. im Internet durchführen. Die Betreuer stehen hierbei jederzeit gerne hilfreich zur Seite.

Aufgrund entsprechender Erfahrungen soll auch noch auf die Selbstverständlichkeit hingewiesen werden, dass die Ausarbeitung in eigenen Worten erfolgen muss und das durch den elektronischen Bezug von Literatur verleitete Copy&Paste von Textpassagen ein Vergehen gegen die Prüfungsordnung darstellt.

Vorlagen und Hilfestellungen für LaTeX sind auf der Seite "Vorlagen für Arbeiten am IBR" zu finden. Die Verwendung von LaTeX ist verpflichtend.
