Body Area Network Device-to-device Authentication using Natural gAit (BANDANA) is an authentication scheme that allows devices worn on the same body to generate identical secret keys using the gait pattern of the carrier and securely pair with each other without user interaction. It uses the instantaneous variations of a person’s gait pattern from his mean gait to generate fingerprints with a similarity around 80 percent, and utilizes fuzzy cryptography to generate identical fingerprints. This project thesis is an implementation of a prototype of BANDANA for Android smartphones. The prototype establishes an initial insecure bluetooth connection for synchronized sensor reading and data exchange, reads the accelerometer and gyroscope data from the devices, uses the procedure described by BANDANA to extract the gait patterns and generate identical secret keys, and finally accomplishes a successful secure connection between the devices without user interaction.
