I tried this on our LAN and both versions (Linux and Win '95 on the
same hardware) run in pretty much the same speed. Which version of Tcl
are you using? (The unfortunate "closing channels feature" in Tcl
8.0.3 might affect this script as well since I need to fake a channel
in order to stuff the UDP socket into the Tcl event loop.)
