[tkined] USEC authentication??

I can't seem to get the usec authentication to work in tkined.
I am using the 2.1.5 RPM and I have made the patch (adding
snmp_user to SnmpInit) as described in the article "SNMP V2u
and cmu-snmpd" posted on 19Aug97 by H. P. Schmiedehausen.

Now, that seems to solve one issue but also allows another
issue to show itself. When I try to make a query, tkined
says noResponse. I have looked on the agent side (snpmd)
and have seen messages received from/sent to tkined, however,
they seem to be completely different that the messages
sent from/received by cmu-snmp manager tools.

Another thing I couldn't figure out was how to set up
the password for v2u communication. I looked for
documentation on all of this stuff, but I couldn't find
any. Did I miss something??
