I had no problems upgrading, just cut and paste. The benefit is total
stability. I did have the new version spawn so many processes during a
network outage that it locked my box but then its only a 166. I have it
monitoring our ATM and gigabit networks at work on a P2 without problem and
we spent 500 grand on an Openview system. Its great!

Check out the 3.0.0 manual pages. Usually, the changes are relatively
easy and straight-forward. How much work it is in your case depends on
your script of course.
