Your are right. I started to write some documentation, but this will
take some time. (I am away to visit the USA in the next weeks :-) I
also would like to have a macro like feature working that could be
used to collect sequences of tool commands (e.g. discover network, set
icon, layout network, group network, ...)

This is a bug. The next version will have a small job scheduler that
will simplify the implementation of flashing icons. It will also allow
us to run multiple monitoring commands within a single process.  The
scheduler is up and running, but the monitor.tcl script needs some
work. I will try to remove the bug described above.

The clone option indicates if a new icon should be created or if the
selected icon should be converted whenever a chart icon is created.
