[tkined] Controlling service activity using Scotty/Tkined

Hi All !

Is possible to control (without SNMP) the status of 'standrad' services in
remote machines ? I want to test the HTTP, POP3, SMTP and FTP services in
several machines using Tkined, showing a green/red signal if the service is
ok/unavailable.
