Hello tkined people.
Sorry to start my life in this List-server with a newbie question but,
I did look for answers in FAQs and READMEs etc but, I'll admit that I'm
still quite green when it comes to compiling packages so please forgive
my shortcomings.
My problem is this:
I've build and installed Tcl 7.5 and TK 4.1 (as per instructions in
scotty-2.1.9 ) without trouble (the "make tests" ran nicely from Tk with
only the minor warnings the README
said to expect and all the pretty flashing and blinking of test windows
etc).
I then happly went on to the configure, make and make install for
scotty-2.1.9 and ran into the following:

/usr/local/lib/tnm2.1.9.so: symbol dn_skipname: referenced symbol not
found
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `tnm-install-library'

ls -al shows that the file "/usr/local/lib/tnm2.1.9.so" is there and
that I have read and execute privileges so I was hoping someone could
explain this "referenced symbol " stuff or maybe
more modestly :-) let me know what to do about it.
I'm on a Sun ULTRA 5 running Solaris 2.6
[SunOS <hostname> 5.6 Generic_105181-06 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-5_10]
and gcc -v says
Reading specs from
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.6/2.8.0/specs
gcc version 2.8.0
Is there other info that is needed to diagnose this ?
