I downloaded scotty-99-08-12.tar.gz and compiled / installed it without any
problems on my RedHat 6.0 server.
Discovering my network tkined complains about an invalid netmask of
"0.255.255.255" for appr. 50% of all clients.
Message, for example: "Please check the netmask 0.255.255.255 for 1.1.4.174 on
class A network 1."
We use the netmask 255.255.255.0, and due to circumstances out of my control I
_must_ use such IP segments (like 1.1.4.x) for my local network into a closed
bigger WAN.
I can't explain this message. It happens each time again, also when I use
"Netmask" from the IP Trouble menu.
The reported clients are standard Windows 3.11 and Win NT 4.0 (Workstation)
clients and configured absolutly correct.
If tkined has a problem with the IP segment and netmask, then it should
complain ALL addresses into my network but not only a few.
What is wrong, what shall I do?
A second problem happens when I try to "walk Mib tree" of our new 3Com
Corebuilder 3500 switch. A few seconds after starting the walk the script
crashes and the menu bar from which I called the walk mib tree disappears from
tkined. No report window appears.
Thanks,
Thomas
