Hello all,
I'm sure this has been beat to death.. and as i write this i know that
i will run to the archives.. but just to satisfy my curiosity...
What i want to do is write an "agent" in the respect that i have
something looking at the an "event log" for certain events. So when
those events are logged it fires of a process ( this could be done in
C++ or perl) that talks to scotty/tkined that will change an attribute
of the tkined obj. on the workspace.
Is this doable? I'm sure its been done, so whats sort of languages have
been used to work effectivly with scsotty/tkined to enable this
function?

Basically i have some devices that are NOT snmp aware and currently
they send events to a log file. I want to try to "fake" an snmp way of
handling events thru this "agent" of sorts..

Any thoughts.??

Thanks..
Terrelle
