[tkined] IMPLIED OCTET STRING as table index

I am running across a situation where I need to know if a table is being indexed by a "normal" OCTET STRING or IMPLIED OCTET STRING, however, I am not able to obtain this information from the "mib" or "Tnm::mib" command, I am able to get the name of the index, thus, its type as well, however, in order for my program to send an SNMP request properly, I also need to know how to encode the OCTET STRING index: whether to include a length component as the first OID component. Any suggestions?
