[tkined] Problems after upgrading OS

Been lurking on this list for a few weeks, looks like it is time to
"delurk" for a minute with a "HELP" message.

I mostly had tkined1.4.9 working on RedHat 5.1 (tcl-8.0.2) and had built
up a nice picture of our wan with graphs showing load on each site's
router and alarms, etc. The only problem I had was it wouldn't remember
to syslog errors so I had to reset that on each item every time I had to
restart. Since restarts tend to be rare events that was only a minor nit
that would wait for a resolution.

Then I upgraded to RH 5.2 (tcl-8.0.3) while trying to solve an unrelated
problem and all heck broke loose. tkined started dumping cores on startup
so I rebuilt it. Then it wouldn't load at all. Said the _stat call was
missing from libtcl (or perhaps libtk). Grrr. Went out and grabbed
scotty2.1.10 and built it and now I can start the sucker and load my map.
However none of the SNMP features work. Existing graphs just sit there
frozen displaying data from the last run where the software was working
and attempts to invoke anything on the SNMP-Monitor menu result in the
menu itself going away.

Since X-CD-Roast also broke (but the latest version of it appears to be
fully functional again) on the upgrade I'm starting to think this might be
a common problem with TCL based software. :( I'm hoping this has happened
to someone else already but I didn't find anything in the mailing list
archive on a search.
