[tkined] Relocation Error: Referenced Symbol

Please see previous messages on the same subject. It appears that tnm2.1.9 and
tcl/tk 8.1, at least from my experience, don't work together (they're not
advertized to be able to work together.) It appears that this combination
causes the "catch" statement not to work.

I attempted to compile scotty-2.1.9 with tcl/tk 8.0p2, the combination that's
supposed to work. Unfortunately, I receive the "referenced symbol not found"
error experienced previously. The text of the error follows:

initialization failed: couldn't load file
"/home/usr/kplourd/scotty/lib/tnm2.1.9.so": ld.so.1: ./scotty: fatal: relocation
error: file /home/usr/kplourd/scotty/lib/tnm2.1.9.so: symbol Tcl_SetVar2:
referenced symbol not found
*** Error code 1
make: Fatal error: Command failed for target `tnm-install-library'

Why doesn't tnm find the variable provided in tcl.h?

No responses to this request. Been overtaken by events. I found installing
tnm2.1.9 and tcl/tk 8.1 seem to have solved the problem. Don't understand why.
