This is not true. The udp command is still part of 2.1.X and I see no
reason to remove until there is native udp support in Tcl. The only
command which got removed was the tcp command because this is not
covered by Tcl.

update is part of the Tcl interpreter for quite some time now.

scotty 2.1.10 still compiles and runs fine on our SunOS boxes. Sure,
we have a hacked resolver in our OS and I can't even tell you how we
patched the hacked resolver in there (this happend years ago). Anyway,
scotty builds and runs fine on SunOS - you only have to fix the broken
SunOS resolved. BTW, replacing the broken SunOS resolver is worth the
effort as many applications will compile much easier once you have
fixed the resolver.
