Dear Lady, Dear Sir,

I want to create a SNMP master and SNMP agent with the help of the
Tnm-Package. Both applications should handle :

GET/SET commands
and
TRAPs

I believe(d) I need two SNMP-Session in each application; one to handle
the GET/SET Commands

and one to handle TRAPs

The generall question is: In how far is Tnm's snmp library configurable
to portnumber and Ip-Addresses??
More detailed questions in following scheme:

SNMP
Master SNMP Agent
on host
m on host a

Session Options
GET/SET
dst-address -address <host
a> -agent
dst-port -port <port
a> -port <port a>
Q1: What's the source portnumber
? Q2: What happens with portnumber
if sequence is the following:
a)
fix
set s [snmp session -port <port a>]
b)
ephemeral
s configure -agent ""

first it is a destination port number

then it is the portnumber bound by SNMP agent (I think)

TRAP
Q3: It this configurable
? -dst-address <host m>
According man-pages/README
-dst-port <trap port host m>
only a agent can bind a local
port Q4: What's the source portnumber ?
Or does Tnm Master only support
a) fix
the default portnumber
162 (?) b) ephemeral

snmp man-page only speaks about destination parameters not about a local
bind.
A local bind of a socket is done in the case you open a agent session!!
