[tkined] Problem searching the archive

I am trying to search the archive of this mailing list at
www.rosat.mpe-garching.mpg.de/mailing-lists/TKined

The pattern I'd like to search is "port number" in one
piece of string. But whatever I try, the search engine
returns matching for "port" *OR* "number", rather than
"port" followed by a blank space followed by "number".

The patterns I tried are "port AND number", "port;number",
"port[ ]number", "port\ number" and "port number" enclosed
in double quotation marks.

The hyperlink "Help on pattern" isn't of much help.

So without getting into too much detail, could someone
enlighten me of how to search for the exact string
"port number"?
