A new snapshot of my scotty 3.0.0 sources is now at:

ftp://ftp.ibr.cs.tu-bs.de/pub/local/tkined/devel/scotty-98-05-01.tar.gz

It contains bug fixes, some new commands and limited (noAuth/noPriv)
SNMPv3 support. The USEC code is still there, but it will be gone
in the final 3.0.0 release.

There are some major changes in the SNMP engine going on in order to
make better use of the Tcl_Obj system. The use of the Tcl_Obj system
will also give us real 64 bit data types once it is completed. A new
snmp delta command has been added to work around Tcl's platform
dependent arithmetic which also does not support unsigned values.
There are also some new commands (snmp expand, snmp delta, snmp oid,
snmp type, snmp value) to make script a bit easier to write and read.

Finally, using the new Tcl_Obj system will improve performance in
"larger" scripts. BTW, I just found some interesting performance
numbers on the following Web page:

http://www.btc.gatech.edu/net/management/linux/snmp.html

Looks like scotty does the job quite well - even without Tcl_Objs. ;-)
