Good information. I think you're confusing a few authors and wrapping
them into one big package though. I wrote the porting notes originally
for 4.9.3 version of bind. And they worked there. Yes, I could see where
there would be problems with the 4.9.4 version. Also keep in mind that
those porting notes were for something like scotty-2.1.2 originally, and
probably became a little stale through version changes of scotty itself.
Personally, I haven't compiled a version for SunOS4 since 2.1.5.

As for testing and author, I think you were referring to Juergen telling
people to read the porting notes. You can't really blame him for not
testing it since he doesn't have access to a SunOS4 machine. You could
probably blame me, but I haven't compiled for SunOS4 for probably about
a year or more. So, it's more a case of neglect than anything else.

Thanks for the update. Would you care to be the official SunOS4 updater
now? ;)
