Hi!

I have used Scotty for about a month soon...

I am running Scotty on a Linux RedHat 4.0 box with kernel version
2.0.33, tnm 2.1.7, scotty 2.1.7,
tkined 1.4.7 and libc 5.4.38.

I am think it is a really fine product, I have test it with diffrent
network stuff on ours
campus network.

But it is still one thing I can't get to work... And I think it can be
some bug in scotty or straps.

I can't get trap messages show in tkined then I use the trap sink option
from snmp monitor menu i tkined.
Which program invoke straps to get/catch snmp trap messages.
But so far I have done a lot of hour just testing to get strap work...

If I use snmptrapd for catch/get snmp trap messages from other network
stuff it work just fine.
I have also try to just send standard snmp messages like Warm Boot,Cold
Boot and so on...
But scotty dosen't notice anything...

Today I have also go throw the source code for scotty and straps if I
found something which could to which,
but couldn't found anything... But we take more time to do it tomorrow
or then i have time.

I have also tested to get snmp trap to work on other Linux kernel
(2.0.3x and 2.1.7x,2.1.8x) and also on RedHat 4.2 and
RedHat 5.0 shipping box. But on all it work just fine but not snmp
trap...
snmptrapd work just fine in all system.

And ofcourse i don't run snmptrapd and straps at the same time.

I got no error messages from straps or scotty then I use trap sink. I
got nothing!!!

Someone who can help me! Please!!

I don't have the time to do more test to get snmp trap to work with
scotty and the box at work.

At least if you have some ide that I should test or do please write to
me...

Please!!

Appologize for my bad english!

Kind gerades

//Tommy
