[tkined] Problems with scotty on Linux 2.0.32

I have rather stupid problem:
when I try to make configure I got this message
Which directory contains libtcl7.5.a:
and then
Which directory contains libtk4.1.a

I have tcl7.5 and tk4.1 and they seem to work perfectly (TkDesk works
for example).
These packages contain respectively libtcl7.5.so and libtk4.1.so, but
no *.a

When I make links from .so to .a files configure is ok, but I can't
compiled scotty
with error about unresolved link.

Can anybody explain me how to solve it?
