[tkined] problem with wait for async. request on NT machine

I am having a problem with any kind of wait for the asynchronous
request. If there is no response, the wait never returns.
Here is an example:

snmp# get sysName.0 "snmpGetProc %E %V"
snmp wait

If there is no response for the snmp get request, the process hangs.
I also tried

snmp# wait [snmp# get sysName.0 "snmpGetProc %E %V"]

If there is a response, it works great.

I would appreciate any help on this problem.
