I don't think you can do this with ICMP redirects. You can do thinks
like this with IP source routing, but our experiments several years
ago were really bad (because IP option processing was more like a
gambling game at that time). IP implementation have changed quite a
bit, but now you are usually out of luck because router and firewalls
forbid source routing for various reasons.

Some versions of traceroute have a -g option which enables IP source
routing.
