[tkined] Preventing label overlap

I am just getting started with tkined so if this is an FAQ please forgive me
and just let me know where I can find the FAQ file.

Is there a way to have tkined automatically prevent labels from overlapping?
I tried setting the grid spacing to 80, but the FQDNs are still ending up
overlapping. Or is there a way to tell tkined to only display some portion
of the FQDN?
