Performance is one reason. There are other things as well: The agent
does not do real getbulk processing and it also has no direct way to
configure SNMP MIB views. Otherwise, the protocol engine should be
OK. (At least not worse than some other SNMP implementations. :-)

Its fine to talk about this in Boston. Hwoever, this is of general
interest to a lot of people that are not even subscribed to this list.
If you really want to get this thing going, you have to make an
attempt to get all the maintainers of free SNMP agent code involved.
