HP network printers in my experience generally are
shipped with agents which behave properly (they
come up on initialization, ...). Are you sure that
your printers aren't already responding to SNMP GETs
and SETs? Moreover, I know that H-P documents their
SNMP agents, although I've managed to lose my
pointers to this information. Your vendor should be
able to pursue this for you.
