VPN Map Administration

We are developing a Virtual Private Network feature for our switching
product. I would like to know, how do NM applications incorporate the
VPN partitioning of the network (for administration, control and
monitoring) as regards the network map being displayed at the operator's
console ?

Do these products hide the network components not lying in the logged-in
operator's VPN(s) from the
map ? How does one do this in scotty, (HP OpenView ?) ?

Is it possible to define an attribute for a network component on the map
based on which its display can be disabled or enabled ?

Regards,

Vineet

PS :Excuse me if this is too elementary, but I have not had much
experience in the map management via
scotty :(

Just being a silent reader on your mailing list has also been a very
informative experience. Keep up the good work !
