Forget about the event command. This is an undocumented experimental
command which is going to be removed from the next version because it
a) conflicts with the Tk 8.0 event command (used to define composite
GUI events - not applicable here) and b) it is too simplistic to be
useful. There will be an event facility in the next release, but this
one is integrated with the upcoming support for network maps. For
creating low-level events, you have to use the Tcl after or the Tnm
job command.

The URL for the Tcl/Tk conference in Boston this year is:

http://www.usenix.org/tcl97/

I am not giving an official talk there. However, there is a scotty BOF
scheduled on Tuesday night, 15 July 1997 at 9pm - 11pm. You are also
invited to talk with me at any time during the Tcl workshop if you
have any open questions left.
