Many people believe that CMIP is dying with the OSI protocols, but TMN
will survive. Many people believe that CORBA is the platform to build
a TMN compliant system. This is backed up by all the major players in
the telecom world who are working on CORBA things right now. Some
people even believe that CORBA implementations of GDMO objects will
replace CMIP in the next couple of years.
