Q: snmp queries not over ethernet

hi,
I m using scotty within SunOs,and i would like to send snmp queries
via other interfaces than "le" (ethernet), i would be very interrested
in using my serial port to send queries over Frame Relay or PPP from
scotty scripts.
has somebody done things like that.
Any experiences or advices are welcome.
