ICMP timeout change.

Hi,

I have a number of systems which, when backups are runnng on these
systems (NT 4.0) they do not respond to ICMP quickly enough and my
tkined monitors get flagged. Consequently, I get paged when backups
run whioch is when? Midnight. My wife thinks I should either change
occupations or fix the problem. So. I have altered the entry in
my scotty-2.1.4/tkined/apps/tkined.defaults file:

! ICMP related constants:

icmp.retries: 4
icmp.timeout: 20
icmp.delay: 6
icmp.routelength: 22

icmp.timout WAS set to 4. I have changed it to 20. Is there anything
else I can do to let tkined wait a little longer? And, yes, I'm
looking into why my systems are so darn slow when being backed up.
Until I figure that out, though, I do not want to get pelted at night.

-Ed
