Juergen, are there any documentation regarding how I can use the compat.tc
file?
Specifically, I would like to "cast" a MIB variable from "octet string" to
DisplayString, however, I do not want to build this knowledge into the TCL
code
itself, and I do not want to chang the MIB file either, I am wondering if I
can put an entry in compat.tc to modify the syntax of any given variable.

If this is not possible, I would sugguest that a similar mechanism to be
inclueded in the new version of Scotty, what do you think?
