Last year I did something like this on Linux using some IPX
utilities. The software was part of GPL'd netware client package for
linux, which I can't remember the name of but included some programs
for monitoring rips and saps. I don't have it now but it would be easy to
use this to filter out the info that you need . There is also an IPX
ping for Linux on sunsite at linux/system/network/misc which you
could use
