Very beginner question, please help

All I want to do is use scotty to contact a host, and change the value for
the community string on a given device. I already narrowed down the mib
which contains that value, but scotty syntax is giving me a headache.

Please help this beginner on what is probable a simple matter it will help
me to grow into a beautiful bright scotty user.
