SNMP Traps not seen (part 2)

I took the advice of several of you who wrote me and investigated the
community string. I started using snoop to read the packets incomming
from my CSU/DSU. It's sending the community string as "PUBLIC" (upper
case) not "public" (lower case). I tried to change it, but the CSU/DSU
only stores the letters in upper-case. When I changed the community
string to "PUBLIC" (upper case) on another device, it stopped working as
well. When I changed back to "public" (lower case) on that device it
worked again.

So, now I know that the community string is case sensitive, but I can't
make my CSU/DSU send lower case. I've looked through all the info I
could find, but I can't figure out how to change the community string in
scotty/tkined to "PUBLIC" or any other string so that I can use upper case.

Any tips?
