There is no such test as far as I know. Creating a session does not
test anything. Sending a SNMP message might give you an error if the
receiving host returns an ICMP port unreachable, which is a negative
result. Getting no response to a SNMP message does not tell you
anything because the message might have been dropped in transit or the
agent simply refuses to send responses to your manager for security
reasons.
