A MIB-2 agent has to access lots of system or better IP protocol
implementation specific counters. Doing this via Tcl is usually
expensive to do. An implementation in C will be much faster for this
purpose.

This is of course the opinion of the author. You do not have to share
this opinion and therefore you are free to do whatever you want. The
basic purpose of this sentence is that I do not want to hear
complaints from people who are trying to do this if they faild to
succeed.
