I modified snmp_monitor.tcl so that it monitors the data from
etherStatsTable and shows the Ethernet utilization in a stripchart.
I've been monitoring my office LAN for a couple of days, and now I'm
not sure if my script is working correctly because the reported
utilization is very low. It hardly exceeds 1%. But the problem is,
sometimes I take a look at ehterHistoryUtilization and compare it with
my stripchart, and they match. So maybe my script is bad, my RMON
device is bad (very unlikely?), or I just have a very quiet LAN.
I was wondering if someone could take a look at what I did and tell me
what is wrong with it, or try my script on his/her LAN and see what
happens. If you are interested, please get the script from
http://www.st.rim.or.jp/~natsu/data/snmp_rmon.tcl.
BTW, my RMON device is a DECswitch 900EF with firmware version 1.7.0.
Thanks very much in advance,
