I'm not sure if this is related to your problem at all. But earlier
today when I was installing tkined1.4.4 (wouldn't you know 1.4.5 came
out this afternoon!! - figures)
I ran into a similar problem and what I had to do was edit
$prefix_dir/lib/tkined1.4.4/library/*.tcl and replace all instances
of 1.4.0 with 1.4.4 to prevent conflict problems. It solved my problem.
It appears they come like this in the tkined/library directory with the
scotty-2.1.4 distribution. It wasn't until I fixed all those references
that I was able to run it again. I don't recall having this problem with
2.1.1..

Just an FYI. I don't know if it will help you or not.

You might try tkined1.4.5 which was just released today?
