Hello to everybody .

I'm trying to find out is it possible to use tkined and scotty to
implement a network management system for my faculty .

The main processor for my faculty is a bridge/router that connect the
faculty's network to the university's backborn (FDDI) and then to the
Internet .

My university is a class B network and my faculty is a subnet from there.
The bridge/router is from 3Com LinkBuilderII.

The bridge/router is connected to 8 different segments with different
topologies . Each segments have a 3ComLinkBuilder hub with different
configurations . And each segment have different numbers of nodes , some
of it have only 5 nodes and some of it even have hundreds of nodes . I'm
wondering whether these hubs support SNMP . And how do i identify whether
a node is a bridge , a router , a hub or something else .

Best Regards,
