distributed tkined

I don't know if this ever made it to the list. This is a high
priority to me, and I think it would benefit other folks as well.
Does anyone have any feedback or comments that could help us?

Thanks!

] Hello,
]
] (my apologies for the keyed vi file earlier, I tend to get a bit
] fat-fingered sometimes :)
]
] I'm interested in setting up a distributed monitoring environment
] w/ tkined.
]
] What I mean by this, is that I would run tkined w/ a map.tki file,
] and turn on "Remote tkined":"Listen" so that anyone could
] connect.
]
] Then, at each of my 'user/client' stations, I'd set them up to
] "Remote tkined":"Connect".
]
] * The problem is, I only seem to be able to get one functional
] tkined client. Also, the tkined server seems to have problems
] redrawing the screen. :( I can run 1 server, and if I try to
] start two clients running off of it, one works, one doesn't :(
]
] So, what do you all recommend? Is what I want to do reasonable?
] Are there any bugs I should be aware of? Do you have any general
] comments?
]
] The application here is a NOC. We've 3-9 people, who, at any
] given time, may want to access the tkined map/monitoring system
] we've developed. I'd prefer to run that centrally and provide
] views, rather than have each person run their own application.
]
] The server is a sparc 10/512, w/ 92 megs of ram. The clients are
] sparc 4s or 5s, w/ at least 32m and 80mhz cpus.
]
] Any and all comments appreciated!
