some days I posted a question for my problems with installing Scotty-2.1.0.
"make install" failed with a message like
initialization failed: couldn't load file
"/usr/local/scotty-2.1.0/lib/tnm2.1.0.so": ld.so.1: ./scotty: fatal:
relocation error: symbol not found: __dn_skipname: referenced in
/usr/local/scotty-2.1.0/lib/tnm2.1.0.so
My impression was, that this is because of the dynamic tcl extensions.
However, the problem was with sun's special DNS implementation.
We had installed bind-4.9.2 in BSD fashion. Fix was to install
bind-4.9.4 as a shared library in compatibility mode (see the
Makefile of bind-4.9.4 for details).
Hope I can continue with serious work in the next days. :-)
