I'll try.

Mark> 1) An explanation of the fields in the "Event filter
Mark> settings" dialog box

The `Filter Name' defines the name of an event filter and the `Event
Filter Settings' dialog is used to edit an event filter. You can
filter an event against the sending host, the event level, the event
facility, the process that created the event and the event message.
Each filter is a regular expression (case insensitive). The `Status'
radio button allows to activate or suspend a filter. The `Flash Nodes'
radio button will flash nodes with a matching IP address if set to
true. The `Report Window' defines if a new local output window for the
event messages is used or if a global (shared) output window is used.
The `Match' radio button defines if you are interested in the event
messages that match the filter expressions or those that don't match
the filter expression.

Mark> 2) straps startup error "straps:unable to bind multicast
Mark> trap socket:address already in use"

straps tries to open a special trap socket to receive multicast trap
messages. You can ignore this warning as long as you don't multicast
traps.

Mark> 3) Can received events flash group as well as individual icons

Groups should flash if they are collapsed and at least one of the
group members flashes.

Mark> 4) whats the difference between icon->reference->reference and
Mark> icon->reference->tkined options on menu bar

In my version, icon->reference->reference is a pointing hand and
icon->reference->tkined is the tkined icon.
