I think this is a `mis-feature' that appeared in one of the latest Tk
versions. Tk3.6 was clever enough to avoid updates to iconified
windows. This was great because application writers did not need to
pay attention to the window state. I think this good feature was lost
somewhere on the way to non X11 platforms. I hope that John will put
this feature back into the core.
