Color icons in tkined

Hi,
I'm using tkined as an inexpensive management front end for a snmp-extension
I'm developing. I'll have to demo this early next year, and the glossier it
looks the better. I'm very impressed with what I've seen so far.

But...
Wouldn't it be nice if...
the icons in tkined could have color. Meaning, not just colored b/w bitmaps,
but say, tiny GIF files. Is this very hard to do?

I'm going home next week, but would still appreciate any thoughts. (I might
even try something myself, but as I'm not a tcl/tk guru/hero this may not be
a job I'm capable of)
