wish list

The following is my wish list that I've compiled after using tkined for
about two weeks to monitor our network. First of all, tkined/scotty is
wonderful set of tools. We're going to use it to monitor our network
here at NCSU (10,000 hosts - 2 class B networks, but we're not
monitoring every host). We had considered NetView 6000 (big boy) and
are presently using a in-house program which has outlived it's
usefulness...with all that out of the way:

1. Thanks for the blinking groups patch. Is there any way to propagate
the color change to the group icon? i.e. Two nodes go red and blink,
make the group their in blink yellow.

2. Beep. A few beeps when a node goes down or hits a threshold would be
wonderful to get folks attention. (I know tk4.0 has a beep
command...but we can't wait that long :-)

3. Here's the biggie - got a nifty way to map a double click on a group
and pop-up a new view? Or some other means of "layering"? When
expanding a lot of groups, the map gets ugly quick...thoughts anyone?
Giving the expanded groups an opaque background would possibly help some.

Comments, suggestions? Patch files!? welcome,
James
