I have just moved the next version of tkined and scotty to our ftp
archive. I hope that we have fixed the portability problems reported
on this list. Please check out if ntping runs out of the box now
(Karl?). I hope that the missing strdup problem for ultrix machines
is also fixed. Please check it out.
If you still have problem on your machine, let me know so that we can
fix it in the next release.
Below is a list of important changes relative to the tkined-0.5 and
scotty-0.6 release:
- tkined is based on tk 3.3 and tcl 7.0 now
- tkined dialogs now use scales and radio buttons
- scotty allows you to use the select command of extended tcl
- the tkined interface script implements a simple job
scheduler based on the select command
- the monitoring script uses the job scheduler to do many
different monitoring tasks with only one process
- a revised discover script that seems to be solid now
- lots of fixes and hopefully better portability
